Growing up in a small town in Iowa, my family baked desserts and sweets for every occasion.  Everything was homemade ... anything else just wouldn't do.  It was very common to come home from school or stop by my Grandmas' house and find fresh baked cookies, pies, or cakes.  To this day, when you visit my family, chances are there will be some homemade treat just waiting to be sampled.

Memories of making popcorn balls with my Grandma, and her pecan sugar cookies that signal the Holiday season, are memories that are very dear to me.  Eating one of those amazing cookies just takes me back to my Grandma's kitchen, family gatherings and times which were much simpler than they are today.  So, after years of continuing this baking tradition with my own family and friends, and seeing how much joy homemade treats can bring to people, Baked by Betsy was born.
